Hello, Mr.Friccafracc! I am a student writing an ethnography about tumblr users, and as you're one of the first people I think of when I think about Tumblr, I was wondering if you'd mind answering a few questions about your experience. If you aren't interested, feel free to delete this ask; no pressure! Also feel free to skip any questions you don't want to answer if you don't want to do it!
If you're willing, would you mind answering these few questions?
-How long have you used Tumblr?
-What is your favorite thing about it?
-If you could, what would you change about it?
-How has your overall experience with the app/website been?
-What does Tumblr mean to you?
-How do you feel about the media's portrayals of Tumblr and its users?
-Is there anything else you want noted about you, the general Tumblr user base, or the app/website itself?
sorry im a week late UHHH
- ive been using tumblr since 2017, so about 8 years now
- favorite thing has got to be the lack of algorithm. You gotta go into the wilds yourself and find content you want to see, just as god intended
- of course, i would change the rampant transphobia running within the tumblr staff. and also bring the porn back
- overall experience has been positive! I joined at the very tail end of tumblr's biggest discourse era, so I missed most of it (thank god)
- corny as it sounds, I think tumblr is one of the last places on the internet that really feeds small blog and community culture, where posts from niche, nowhere blogs with hundreds of thousands of notes from 2013 still circulate and doesn't collapse into Content Creation Hell. It's bizarre and incredibly special to me
- i haven't seen any tumblr rep in media but if its out there i feel like it would be pretty accurate
- tumblr was the very first place I started posting my art online, the first place I properly engaged with fandom and connected with people over the internet. I made askblogs and fanart and so many mistakes on this godforsaken website but really and truly, this is where I began. Making eddsworld posts and thirsting after shane stardewvalley. On here, I'm just a user, and that's all I want noted.
Thank you, Mr.Friccafracc!

Strandy looks like he /hates/ eating mushrooms with a passion, but would eat a full jar of mini dill pickles by himself in a single sitting
This vibe check coming in from left field is so funny to me. You’re right about the dill pickles
Average pickle enjoyer
