fence--privacy screen

These are some ideas to grow along the back fence. While you had expressed interest in a vine to grow along the fence, i think that using shrubs can work just as well, Plus, they require much less up keep and stay looking great all year. I'm thinking doing an evergreen clematis mixed with a star jasmine would be beautiful, and compliment the lemon tree. Plus they have opposite bloom times so you should never be without a fragrant and subtle white blossom.
