You can finish this easy plant dye project in less than an hour and make a silk scarf for yourself or give it as a gift. This botanical dye DIY project is safe enough to do with kids, as long as they have adult supervision. Tools • Pot • Tongs • Steamer basket • Stove top Supplies • 100% Silk or silk scarf • Alum (get it in the spice aisle at your local supermarket) • Blossoms: hibiscus, marigolds, dark rose petals, black hollyhocks, chamomile, and onion skins get fun results • String or rubber bands Note: • To fix (mordant) your silk scarf, add 1 teaspoon of alum to a bucket of warm water, stir, and let your scarf sit overni
