Hello friends! It's finally time to share all the details on how I created this unique bench! This DIY was by far my most popular creation of 2019, and that's thanks to you guys! Lauren Jansen | DIY on Instagram: "I BUILT A CANOPY BED! And I seriously can’t believe how good it turned out! I broke it down into components so it would feel less overwhelming… 1. The Headboard - 2x2 frame with a 3/4” plywood headboard wrapped in foam and fabric! 2. The Footboard - 2x2 frame with a 3/4” plywood footboard where I installed trim detailing. 3. The Sides - 1x10s and 2x2s to connect the headboard and footboard, each connected with pocket hole screws. 4. The Slat System - 2x4 frame with many supports screwed together and into the bedframe. 1x4 slats on top spaced and screwed into the frame every few inches. I spray painted the whole thing black so it would almost have a metal-like finish and I cannot get over it!
