Valknut

The Valknut is an ancient symbol found in the archeological record of the Norse, Germanic and Anglo-Saxon peoples. The symbol is also known as “Odin’s Knot” or “Hrungnir’s Heart.” The word ‘valknut’ is a modern Norwegian compound word that means “knot of those fallen in battle.” The symbol is associated with binding and unbinding and the spiritual aspects of weaving with threads. It is also used as an icon representing the memory of friends or loved ones lost in battle.
