Kadokawa's Comic Cune magazine announced on Thursday that Tsukumizu (Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou) will write a new story titled Shimeji Simulation. The work will be a 4-koma that will center on the "poetic and surreal heartwarming everyday life." The first chapter will debut in Comic Cune's March 2019 issue, which will ship on January 26.

Tsukumizu's previous work, Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou (Girls' Last Tour) was published on the Kurage Bunch website in February 2014 and ended with 47 chapters earlier this year on January 12. Shinchosha printed the manga into six volumes and released the final volume on March 9. White fox adapted the manga into a 12-episode TV anime that was broadcast in Fall 2017. Amazon's former Anime Strike service streamed the show in the United States whilst it aired in Japan.
