Production staff and cast from the first season are reprising their roles, except for Tomori Kusunoki, who is being replaced by Koko Hayashi as Setsuna Yuuki. Kusunoki stepped down from the role earlier this year due to a health condition.
The television short adapting Hito Miyako's spin-off manga aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2023. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles. The special edition of the Blu-ray bundled three unaired episodes on March 29.
Miyako launched the manga on the Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS smartphone game website in December 2018. The manga transferred to Dengeki G's magazine in July 2019 and ran until December that year, concluding the manga's second season.
The official Love Live! YouTube channel began uploading the manga in video format in June 2020, featuring voices by the main cast. The fourth season of the manga ended on January 18 last year.
The original Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) television anime aired in two 13-episode anime seasons in Fall 2020 and Spring 2022. The Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai: Next Sky original video anime screened in theaters on June 23. A three-part anime movie is currently in production, with the first part scheduled for a 2024 opening.
