Blood-C: The Last Dark

Blood-C: The Last Dark is a movie that serves as both the sequel and conclusion to the series of the same name. The best word to describe this film is probably "disappointing". I was expecting a simple showdown between Saya and Fumito, but instead, the movie introduces a whole new plot—one that actually sounds good on paper. The problem is that everything feels poorly executed, with some moments dragging on unnecessarily while others, which are actually important, feel rushed. This turns the movie from good to just decent.

Positive Points :
- The animation. For 2012, it looks amazing, better than many anime from ... 2025.
- The first action scene is really well done, both in pacing and "camera" work.
- The main character has significantly evolved between the series and the movie.
- Excellent soundtrack, truly.
- Some surprising revelations.
- Much more interesting characters compared to the series.

Negative Points:
- Important scenes are just thrown at you out of nowhere, to the point where you almost wonder if it’s a joke.
- The fights are too short and lack stakes. Saya wipes out her enemies way too easily. She should have faced multiple opponents at once or been given a handicap. This was supposed to be the grand finale, yet I never felt even a drop of tension.
- A general lack of stakes. As mentioned earlier, there’s no real threat, no population to save, no higher objective—just Saya’s personal revenge.

Pour conclure : This movie improves on everything from the series, yet it fails in key moments and in its fights, which brings its score down a lot. Still, I’d recommend watching it if you enjoyed Blood-C since it wraps up the series well and remains an enjoyable watch.

BIG MAIN CHARACTER IMPROVEMENT .
Sayu in the original anime series was one of the worst main characters ive seen , like almost as bad as Yuki from Mirai Nikki, she would watch her friends or multiple people she swore to protect die to the monsters and take forever to draw her sword and do something about it, she would also never use her OP red eye powers until she gets beaten down and just one shots the enemy. Like if she was smart she would use that power from the beginning and minimize casualties and saved so many. In the sequel movie, The Last ... Dark, shes an absolute beast, shes literally the polar opposite of her former self, she would use her red eye powers to basically 1 shot assassinate her foes before they have a chance to fight back and if she did get into a full on fight, she would look for an opening and strategically use her red eye powers to deliver the killing blow.

For me the biggest let down was the change in art style, the original 2011 anime series animation and artstyle was straight up eye candy for its time and still holds up very well to this day, they should have kept it instead of going the heavy CG route .

I would say its definitely worth watching , even if u didnt like the Blood-C series, its a big improvement but there's a lot of CG to digest.

A truly masterful simple story with a magical passion that drags the audience in both out of sympathy, and excitement for the main character through the anime alone, and yet the movie forced itself on that. The movie wrapped up the main story, tying all loose ends with a forced, cliche plot. Cliche wouldn't necessarily mean poorly done, but it was in bad taste with especially the ending. The budget that flew into this was phenomenal, even appraisal worthy of how beautiful the art direction led, outside of a lot of its cgi moments that stood out, and yet its a shame everything felt rushed, ... and almost just out of passion that the original anime had alone. Overall, cliche themes, weeby bait, and most of all, a flat story had me feeling disappointed for the most part watching this movie. I personally feel as if the main story could've been ended better instead of what seemed to be a harsh cash grab.
