Zero no Tsukaima

Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière is a self-absorbed mage in a world of wands, cloaks, and royalty. Although she studies at Tristain Academy, a prestigious school for magicians, she has a major problem: Louise is unable to cast magic properly, earning her the nickname of "Louise the Zero" from her classmates.

When the first year students are required to perform a summoning ritual, Louise's summoning results in a catastrophic explosion! Everyone deems this to be yet another failure, but when the smoke clears, a boy named Saito Hiraga appears. Now Louise's familiar, Saito is treated as a slave, forced to clean her clothes and eat off the ground. But when an unfamiliar brand is found etched on Saito's hand from the summoning ritual, it is believed to be the mark of a powerful familiar named Gandalfr.

Wild, adventurous, and explosive, Zero no Tsukaima follows Saito as he comes to terms with his new life and as Louise proves that there is more to her than her nickname suggests.

[10/10] Masterpiece!

First of all, a special thanks to @vegeta8639 who recommend me this amazing anime! Loved absolutely everything in it!

Plot - Quite a basic plot, nothing very impressive but extremely well executed. Before watching this show, didn’t saw that the studio is J. C. Staff but it took me 5 mins to get it lol.
It’s the story of Louise de La Vallière, a self-absorbed mage in a world of wands, cloaks, and royalty. Although she studies at Tristain Academy, a prestigious school for magicians, she has a major problem: Louise is unable to cast magic properly, earning her the nickname of "Louise the ... Zero" from her classmates. When they had to summon a familiar, she summons a boy named Saito. She treats him as a slave. But this is how they get closer of each other. The romantic moments between the main characters are so cuteee <3.

Loved the fact that it contains French culture references. The story evokes some key French cities and every name in this show is French. For example, Louise de La Vallière is the name of a very famous French writer, she was also the mistress of Louis XIV !

Characters -
Louise is a very aggressive protagonist but very cuteee <3 She is the only mage who can’t use magic in this first season.
Saito, the other protagonist, quite different from usual dumb male protagonists. He masters fights with swords.
Guiche, one of my fav character of this show. The most useless but funniest character. He often gets in trouble cuz of his obsession for young women.
Kirche - the « sexy » character, for the fan-services. Big breast, lewd talks.. The ecchi/fan-servicey scenes in this whole show were quite annoying but still laughing.
Siesta a maid in their academy. Saito likes her and viewers can guess that she is in love with him, creating the harem-like story but it’s mostly an isekai only.

Visuals/art -> just splendid!

Soundwise -> OP could’ve been better. I personally didn’t like it at all but the lyrics have such a deep and cute meaning! ED was just bad. Zero’s music is mainly digital.
Voice-acting just perfect <3 can’t find a single serious fault since I’m a big fan of Kugimiya Rie and Hino Satoshi!

Plot - 8/10

Visual - 9.5/10
Character development - 9.5/10
Story telling - 8/10
Louise - 10/10
Louise x Saito - 10/10 !!!

Finally, I absolutely loved this show. Will watch the next seasons soon. Hope it will be as good as this season!

Will definitely recommend this show to everyone. But if you rlly hate aggressive relationships, avoid this. Personally, since I’m ok with it, I just laughed. Such a great rom-com!

Mixed Feelings

Zero no tsukaima is one of those few animes that I would recommend to some people despite the low rating I gave it. It has a an interesting world, many likeable characters, a decently written main character, well-thought abilities, etc...

The anime makes it clear from the first moment that there will be a love story between the two main characters: Louise and Saito, and while Louise is abusive and cold she's so innocent that you root for her somewhat, even more when even she doesn't know why she acts the way she does and regrets the flaws she shows towards people she cares for. ... Saito on the other hand is lecherous but cares for, protects Louise and is loyal, he has a lot of chances to take advantage of her innocence like some other characters try to do, but he seems to respect her.

The story has many great things to develop but it's poorly written so it doesn't polish any of the great concepts it presents, and it often goes in a vulgar tangent like "a thief has a mark on her chest, Saito you need to cause a ruckus looking at every girl's chest". We also get a lot of unnaturally bouncing chests, underage girls in very revealing underwear, and an exhausting amount of sexual innuendos.

This might be the single handedly worst anime I have ever watched in my life. Nothing more needs to be said except don't watch it. I've watched ex-arm, mars of destruction, and tesla note and this one takes the cake. I have a pretty high tolerance for garbage anime but this one makes me want to throw up. Main female character is probably the worst human being you'll ever find in anime and I watched redo of healer. The art is mid, the characters were ALL obnoxious and stupid. Generic, predictable, trash story writing. Frog main character gets carried by a bunch of OP girls ... that somehow join his harem. I don't think anyone would enjoy this series.
