Charlotte

If not for his ability to take over people's mind and body, Yuu Otosaka would be an ordinary high school student. Though it only lasts for five seconds at a time, Yuu's mysterious power allowed him to cheat his way to the top of his class and enter a prestigious high school, where he continues his dishonest acts.

His shenanigans are eventually stopped by Nao Tomori—the headstrong student council president from Hoshinoumi Academy—who sees through his deceit. Through coercion, Nao convinces Yuu to transfer to Hoshinoumi and join the student council. Hoshinoumi Academy is secretly an institution created for adolescents who possess supernatural abilities—with the student council serving as a means of locating those who abuse their powers.

With Yuu begrudgingly assisting in council affairs, the group sets out to find and protect new ability users from harm. However, as they further investigate the abilities, their findings entangle them in far more complicated matters than they could ever imagine.

For a 13 episode anime that ends, it is very good. The last episode by itself even if a little edgy, surprises me by how many things happened.

It is not a mindblowing anime but as far as 13 episode animes it was a good watch.

Characters feel alive, the style was well suited for teenagers though it failed for adults (the limusine driver for example, I feel like he was supposed to be 35+ but he looked like a 20 year old), animation was decent, very consistant and they made sure the powers felt good to see.

7.5/10 Is about right for its rating.

Mixed Feelings

I want to start this review with I can not simply turn my brain off when i watch a show. I understand if you can but i can't so that's gonna set the tone for this review. This isn't a bad show but yes i gave it a 5 because one half of the show is great and the other half makes you wanna pull you hair out with the amount of bullshit you have to accept. A good chunk of this show is accepting what is told to you. Unfortunately if you do any of that this show will just make no sense to ... you. A lot of the conflict seems pointless when you pay attention to the show. Episode 4 and 5 serves no purpose besides character bonding which i found to be a bore fest. You wanna know why you should stick around and watch the show it's because the main character is kind of a real ass guy. I mean a lot times within the initial episodes you might say "yeah i would have done that too". The show makes his character come off as narcissistic and witty but honestly he's just a normal dude who decides to cheat the system by using his powers and just unfortunately got caught. That being said what makes this show unbearable during certain parts is how they try to mold him to be a certain way. This show will break your neck with how it 180's the MC's personality and the plot. You get 1 scene where he's being a badass and in the next episode he's legit being a bitch when it doesn't even make sense. His morals will flip where he has no reason to flip them. The romance between the MC and obvious love interest is kind of shoehorned in. There's parts to the story where your supposed to feel bad but it's hard to do so when it just catches you off guard and not like a "OMG THAT JUST HAPPENED :(" more like a "wow that just happened". It feels like there is zero build up to the point where you can't even try to feel bad because it feels so forced. Things just happen and your supposed to accept them and unfortunately That is exactly why i can't stand this show. I like MC, I like the premise but it isn't being done right. It feels like a waste of potential and that sucks cuz this show looks good and while i don't like the music i can tell it was done well. I left out other characters because none of them really matter even significant ones just kind of show up and we get maybe 1 or 2 things about them before they fade into the background. Overall if your bored you can throw this one on but don't expect to be wowed or anything.

This show feels rushed, simple as that, it doesn't take the proper amount of time to develop the story or characters, nor their relationships, just constantly jumping from one scene to the other, without much explanation, then suddenly changing tone when a plot thing happens, trying to force a loose tie in with a mystery thingy from the middle to the end.

It feels like a work started by one person and ended by another, where 2 conflicted views of what the show was supposed to be clashed and the worse one won. They even managed to shoe horn a time traveling thingy, that personally ... just made it all feel worse for the dark story they tried to introduce later on. In some parts it felt like an attempt at Angel Beats, but lacked everything that made that show great, not even the MC's romantic partner doesn't get any proper development other than "her brother is in pain and then she is sad"

It had a little bit of potential, with a somewhat interesting premise, but ended up just being another disappointment.
