how i rate shows
Anime Relations: Lovely★Complex
all this time ive rated shows based on feel and didn't take the numeric value that serious. rather i have somewhat of a mental tier list where i decide which shows are better than others. though ive never written it, ive always have an idea of what score ment what, so for the sake of toph and laudandus:
10- masterpiece
9- strong plot and strong emotional connection
8- strong plot but not so strong emotional connection (i appreaciate everything about the show but im not likely to think about it much after im done)
7- plot has some flaws but i still have a meaninfull connection
6- show has flaws and i dont have a particularly strong connection
this is where i draw the line between "passed" and "failed" (cuz back in highschool 6 was the minimum passing grade)
5- this ones special because its for shows i either dont remember at all (cuz i fell asleep or had as white noise) or that i feel complete indifference
1-4- various degrees of bad. never had a concrete definition for each, but rather a "this show feels less terrible than this other one" kinda thing
should be noted that emotional connection also incapsulates enjoyment, hence why some shows "so bad they're good" have a high rating.
thanks to toph and laudandus i also thought i should revamp my scores. thats because there are way too many shows in the 7-9 range, specially ones with 8s, that i cant really bump up or down, but in my head i know some with the same score are slightly better than others.
now in uni the passing grade is 4, so i thought it would be somewhat meaninful now that im not in highschool anymore to revamp all my scores to uni style
this only makes more sense because it give me more "passing" scores, which will give me a better chance to be more accurate with them. nowadays i have more perspective in deciding what to watch besides the "this amv looks cool", so it makes sense that id have more good shows, and that id need more scores for them.
im way more quick to drop things i dont enjoy rather than hating my way to the end and giving it a low score, so the score range loss for bad shows wouldnt be a bad thing, i mean right now i dont give them much thought so itd be nice to have a more narrow score list from which to pick from
buuut idk when ill get around to it cuz it seems like a pain and my current list reflects my opinions pretty accurately despite the restrictions

Anime Relations: Angel Beats!
I'm a masochist I watch every single anime that comes out each year, here are my charts:
2016: (Update: I've finished watching every single 2016 anime woo, I'm still missing 3, but those haven't been subbed yet)

2017: (Updated periodically)

Feel free to ask me why I dropped/gave x score to a certain show (drag the image to another tab to zoom)
