Hi, I'm trying to start a club for critical and knowledgable anime fans. I came across your account in the "World Masterpiece Theater" club and you seem to fit the bill. The two purposes of the club are to foster community via the club Discord server, and to create a robust poll of the "greatest anime of all time", voted on by members in a thread on the front page of the club. Each member would post their personal top ten list in the thread, titled "Post Your Top Ten", and then eventually I will compile all the lists into a final aggregate. I have yet to go through Fata Morgana. I am quite interested in the work, and its aesthetics are very appealing. However, a close friend of mine didn't quite enjoy it (especially the last door, surprisingly), which made me postpone it, I believe. That being said, I will definitely read it sometime. I am just quite distant from anime, manga, and visual novels lately, as cinema and philosophy have gradually become my priorities (followed you in letterboxd).

Seabed leverages VN capabilities very differently from Umineko. Whereas Umineko is an epic huge in scale, with lots of elements for you to engage in a very interactive experience of you vs ryukiishi, Seabed is very "simple" and "minimalist".

Seabed restrains itself from diverging from its sensible approach to its themes. It never overstates its goals and sentiments; instead, it is a very subtle and nuanced analysis and portrait of grief and loss by exploring the protagonist's state of mind and memories. In a way, it becomes very slice of life, since her memories are very calm episodes of her life with another character, but as it progresses, it gets quite confusing as there are several plotlines going on, converging into one in the end.

If you are up to a slowburn kind of narrative, through subtle expression of emotions and character study, this might interest you. Umineko is very explosive, so much more appealing in that regard, whereas Seabed requires a very open reading approach to digest its unparalleled understanding of loss and grief and their severe consequences on people. Read it slowly, take your time, and give it time.

Also, try reading Higurashi if you havent. Its question arc is so intense and grips you really hard. It becomes highly synesthesic in its portrait of paranoia (lots of POV narrative, and introspective inner dialogue).

I was absolutely captivated by this outstanding fiction. Jacopo, even more so, as I was surprised to discover another part of his story with the prequel. And to be honest, his rise and fall just bowled me over forever.

I guess it doesn't have a package that looks very appealing to weebs. However I see on vndb (I don't use) that it's a pretty well-known and in the top 10 best visual novels. It has multiple translations.

I see you two dropped Frieren, I'm gonna finish it but I understand why you'd drop it these recent episodes are just out right boring and uninteresting, the author decided that "hey why don't we add new characters just to make have them battle in this tournament then forget them later on" I wish the arc would end so we can see the characters go on with their journey again.
