Captivated - A Dark Scottish Mafia Romance: Book Five - The MacTavish Stolen Brides Series Kindle Edition
It may be 2024, but when a MacTavish man wants a bride, he steals her.
I’m a billionaire. I’m not letting some endangered bird stop me from building my massive computer server plant. When these ridiculous environmental protestors interfere with my building site, I humiliate them before throwing them out.
But when Fee, the feisty head of the group, uses her charms (and my intoxicated state) to kidnap me, I’m entertained enough to allow her to hold me on her Irish grandfather’s farm. When we’re attacked by an enemy intent on ending me, she realizes for the first time that I’m not just a businessman. I’m the head of one of the most powerful Mafias in Europe.
Now, I have to kidnap and marry her, kicking and screaming, to keep her safe, because she is utterly captivating.
There’s a goat living in my mansion and a woman who despises everything I stand for… unless we’re in bed. I have to take out my vicious enemy, deal with my irritating insta-family, and make my new wife fall in love with me.
Nothing to it.
Captivated is book five in the MacTavish Stolen Brides Series, but it can easily be read as a standalone, with no cheating and an HEA.

***** Okay, so let me start by simply saying I loved this. Totally, utterly, deeply. Now while it is a bit lighter than the books that came before, it still retains all the thrills that have kept us hooked for so long. The humor laced throughout how these couples usually end up meeting and inevitably ending up together. The raw emotions and vulnerability peppered throughout that always keep you wondering just whom you should be rooting for. Christy7720 Amazon Reviewer
***** This is one of the warmest of the MacTavish Stolen Brides series, and I think the addition of co-writer Ann Harrington just made it better. Fee and Alec are wildly hot together, the smut is spectacular and the the banter! So many good laughs in between the violence. One of my favorite reads this year. Geek Goddess Reviews
***** There is plenty of wonderfully filthy smut and I laughed every time these two tangled. Crime, explosions, smut, love, family and a goat named Noreen. This is definitely a five-star read! Welcome to Arianna's co-writer on this book, Ann Harrington. I've never read any of Ann's stories before, but I'll be looking for them now! Underworld's Dark Romance Reviews
**** If I could give higher than 5 stars, I certainly would! Although I absolutely loved all of this author's various mafia series, the MacTavish series is my favorite, and this one is the best of them all! Alec and Fee's meet cute, introduction to the families; local schmutter; the farm animals; I haven't laughed so much in a long time! And underneath all of the bucolic scenery was a slow build, steamy romance that fit in perfectly with their personas. What an enjoyable read! Laura S. Amazon Reviewer
*****These two! They are definitely enemies to lovers as they are on opposite sides but after Fee does the unthinkable, she definitely charms her way into Alec's life. Their banter makes you laugh and they are so opposite that they are also so perfect for each other. They bounce off each other's energy and will look out for the other. They can freely share their thoughts but will read each other as well. This couple definitely will leave you with a smile. Stephanie L. Goodreads Reviewer

About the Author
As a former entertainment reporter, Arianna Fraser has plenty of fuel for her imagination when writing romance-suspense stories. There will always be an infuriatingly stubborn heroine, an unfairly handsome and cunning hero - or anti-hero - romance, shameless smut, danger, and something will inevitably explode or catch on fire. She is a terrible firebug, and her husband stashed six fire extinguishers throughout the house.
Arianna lives in the western US with her twin boys, obstreperous little daughter, and sleep-deprived husband.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2024I loved this book, but then I love all of Arianna Fraser's books.
Captivated is the story of Alec, who is from the mafia world and is currently very bitter after some life changing news and Fee who is a conservation queen. He is about to build on land that the conservationists are trying to save but of course there is a lot more to it than that. I love how all Arianna's male characters come from the same world, but she makes them all different.
The Mactavishes make a big appearance in the book which made me happy as I was not ready to let them go just yet and they of course add to the humour. Not to forget some hysterical (as in funny hysterical) farm animals creating havoc and of course the morally grey Grandfather. The snippy banter between all the different characters means you have a smile on your face through most of the book. One of my favorite lines: "Paste on that winning smile, sir. " Charles whispered. "Not the one worn by attractive psychopaths. The other one."
I would definitely recommend Captivated and if you have not read the others in the series, you will be doing yourself a favour if you do.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2024Okay, so let me start by simply saying I loved this. The family ties that somehow always cause more trouble than they're worth and remind us so much of those human connection we all deal with in some form or another on a daily basis. And then of course we have the message woven throughout.
Now, I will admit the whole environmental thing isn't really top of my life choices (that what I have a younger brother for after all), but honestly, seeing the passion Fee has for it as well as our wonderful authors pointing out the damage that can be caused by the over saturation of commercial infrastructure in the pursuit of profits, as well as the beauty lost, it really would put you thinking on the other side of things. Even just thinking of the beauty of Ireland and how well it was portrayed here. It honestly made me nostalgic for those summer days spent as a kid outdoors amongst the birds, trees, cattle and flowers in all its unspoiled wonder. I can definitely see the appeal of preserving that.
That said though, I'm still smiling at the inevitable wedding and how Lachlan stole the show once more. No spoilers here, but honestly, that man most definitely owns the title of most badass MacTavish. What he was doing during and after the ceremony, well I guess we'll never know, but as the architect of mischief goes he's definitely the chieftain in that regard. Which then leaves us with the other side of this equation and the spectacular Cassidy Clan. Where do I even begin with them? I mean don't get me wrong I don't want to brand them as typically Irish, but they definitely remind me so much of the older generations of rural Irish people and I think this plays out so well in the relationships between Fintan, Martin and Fee. Three generations with very different views and personalities yet still valuing the simple things above all else.
And OMG, their ingenuity. From Alec's kidnapping, to the use of the farm during the firefight, to how well they blended their knowledge of the area and farming background with the hardened skills of the mafia families. It really just showed why Alec and Fee are such a perfect match. Now if the MacTavish Clan can just get Father Barclay back on side I'm certain this would be perfect ending to this fabulous collection.

Does anyone know where we can find men so well equipped? Asking for a friend.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2025I really hope more books of Scottish men get written 🤣🤣😈. I’m sad to be finishing this series. They were all great books
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2024Excellent! Has well developed interesting characters.
A good bit of humor. Fast paced storyline.
Characters from previous books show up and some unfinished business is settled nicely .
My favorite book in this series and I thought all previous ones were great , too.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2024The story is well written and a few times I found myself laughing out loud, but this was my least favorite of the book series because of how irritating and ridiculous the FMC is throughout the book. I respect having a passion for a cause, but her character goes beyond passionate and straight to dogmatic, which is a complete turnoff. It was so bad that I had to force myself to finish the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2025The story is great, and like always the people are fun and easy to love.
There is only one major flaw. If your leg is chained to the wall, there is no easy way to change your clothes. The pregnant goat staying when her Dad was so worried is off.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok
Compared to all the other books that Arianna has written this cannot compare.
I have read all her previous books in order back-to-back and this one doesn't feel right...
There was way too much technical talk about eco stuff and protest. I skimmed through a bit of it because when Fee or Alec would talk about the 'save the world' stuff there was too much technical words and it went on for too long.
I feel like all of that Eco talk needed to be minimised and plain speaking. Arianna has done a good job at giving each of the MacTavish brides their own personality but also their own vocation or aim in life. While I do get that Fee was an Eco-Warrior it felt to pushed.
I did enjoy when they teamed up to destroy Leevil but even then when they were describing what they were doing some terminology wasn't so plain.
I would've liked a bigger end result with Alec & the MacTavish's.
