I had a dumb idea at work
HELP ME GET BACK ON MY FEET (Literally), admitting that I need help.
As hard as it is for me to write this post, after talking with friends and my partner I have come to terms with the fact I sometimes need to ask for more help than I allow myself to.
On January 24, 2025 I was on my way back to an AirBNB that I was staying in with my partner and our friends while visiting MagFest. To make a long story short: I slipped on ice that had formed on the driveway while we were gone and severely broke my ankle.
Specifically, this resulted in a trimalleolar fracture. I needed surgery within the week that resulted in plates and screws being installed in my ankle and nearly 2 months of bed rest. As of Monday, March 17th, I am in a boot and starting physical therapy... and I cannot afford it.
While I am lucky enough to have a job that offers a decent amount of accrued sick leave, after paying rent and other bills I will not be left with enough money to both go to physical therapy and pay for other living expenses such as... groceries.
Attempting to get compensation from either the host or AirBNB or finding a lawyer to help me has been slow and unsuccessful so far. I will already be out of work for at least another month, if not longer, and when I was at work I would have overtime hours that would assure I had significantly more income than what I receive on sick leave.
I have used up all the savings I had to pay for my medical bills, some of which that also still need more payments, at this point and... I need help. I don't want to ask for it, but I need to.
These donations will not only ensure that I will recover properly and be able to afford things like food, but that I will also be able to begin streaming again sooner so that I can at least give you all some entertainment in return.
I know money is tight for everyone right now, but I would appreciate any help you could send my way.
Any amount anyone could share would be greatly appreciated. Any sharing of my posts that have linked to my donation page is just as appreciated.
Any money made past the goal I have set will be used solely to pay for other medical bills/expenses related to this trimalleolar fracture.
The last thing I expected to wake up to was seeing that, somehow, 53% of my goal was donated overnight.
I appreciate every one of you generous wonderful people who shared these posts/donated. There's still a long way to go, but this helps so much and means than I can say!
