Best shows coming to Apple TV+
2025 looks to be a good year for thrillers, dramas, comedies and sci-fi.
I loved the first couple of seasons of Slow Horses, the Apple TV+ comedy/thriller about underdog British spies that stars Gary Oldman.
But as the seasons progressed, firearms increasingly became central plot devices — which is highly unlikely in the gun-free U.K. — and my interest started waning. The climactic shootout at the end of season three was so absurdly incredible, and so contrary to the show’s underdog ethos, that I almost checked out on Slow Horses right there.
Nonetheless, I’ve dutifully watched subsequent seasons and tried not to let the implausible gunplay ruin the show’s other pleasures. I have somewhat tempered hopes for seasons five and six, the first of which will debut later this year.
Aside from Slow Horses, Apple TV+ has an interesting lineup of shows to look forward to in 2025. There are new seasons of fan-favorite shows, plus a bunch of brand-new original series and movies. Expect plenty of dramas, comedies and lots of sci-fi.
Here’s our roundup of the best shows coming to Apple TV+ in 2025.

CES, the annual consumer electronics trade show, kicks off in Las Vegas this week, and we’ll be covering the most interesting Apple-related news and gadgets. To start, there’s a new robovac with a robot arm for picking up discarded socks; AI-powered NAS devices; a clever iPhone battery attachment with a DSLR grip; and earbuds that offer real-time language translation and work with a range of AI voice assistants, including Siri.
I own an earwax camera like the one we have on sale, and I’ve never been so fascinated/horrified. Plus, my ears are clean!
AirTags returned to their lowest-ever price for a four-pack. Here’s the thing with AirTags: You can never have enough. There’s always something new to attach them to.
Today’s the day that Steve Jobs first showed off Mac OS X’s colorful Aqua interface. I remember sitting in the audience at Macworld and getting terribly excited by the colorful, dynamic interface that looked like the future. See the top X post below. It’s also the day Apple returned to profitability.

Aqua was first revealed 25 years ago today (Jan 5, 2000)
Software was flat & gray until Aqua shook the world with a fresh, colorful look that melded the design language of the iMac (dimensional, transparency, lighting) to craft the first controls you wanted to press.

Intuition is a very powerful thing, more powerful than intellect, in my opinion. That’s had a big impact on my work.
