Africa is now transitioning into the Accelerated Society Era, where Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Autonomous Systems are becoming integral to business processes and consumer interactions. Building a Data-Driven Future: According to Prof. Ekekwe, numbers increasingly drive the world, and this data-centric approach can unlock the potential of Africa’s growing markets. He cited examples from various sectors where data-driven solutions have improved efficiencies and new business models. One of his standout quotes was, "The world is numbers: everything is number," underscoring the role of big data in modern decision-making processes. He called on professionals to adopt data-driven approaches to innovation and problem-solving. Happy Weekend Everyone I am Fafowora Oluwatosin Samuel(FOS), I am here to tell you part of the ways to facilitate business going concerns (continuity) in the midst of unstable economy, and impacts of Credit facility on Business Operations(BO). However, business continuity in an unstable economy is a concern that needed to be maintained through lots of business-finance metrics. Below are factors among many metrics that can be exercise during this period. A. CASH FLOW MANAGEMENT: Timely & healthy cash flow is required and can be achieved via favourable collection of receivables, renegotiating term of payment with credit customers, and effective inventory management. In this current economy, it is very necessary for business managers to look for ways to introduce a win-win discount method to buyers that pays in before the end of agreed days.This will definitely influence other customers as well and reduce delay in payment, as many clients would want to benefit from the discounts.This would influence quick turnover of working Capital. B. IMPROVE SUPPLY CHAINS: Inventory or business managers should ensure good relationship with their suppliers at this crucial period, also to avoid any delay of payables(credit purchases) to gain trusts and reliable chance for credit purchases. Good relationship help to take advantage of,TIME VALUE OF MONEY on credit purchases, because price of commodities are sky rocketing on a daily basis. Low or in effective strategy towards purchases may likely cause an adverse effect to profit maximization in an unstable economy. C. GRANT: International Accounting Standard(IAS 20),states it as a financial award given to an entity be it profit & non-profit making entity by a government, foundation and international communities for a specific purpose. However, certain criteria would be met before this can be granted. Grant is not limited to research and development (R&D), and education alone, but also to startups, Small business and expansions.This can take time before it can be gotten D. COMPETITIVE PRICING & FLEXIBLE PAYMENT PLANS: Every business managers have to study their business ambient, and carryout a pricing survey on relatives pricing system so as to have a stronger &larger market share, with a comparative payment plans. The economy is not favourable currently, every buyer needs where to get their needs at a very reasonable price, meanwhile some businesses are placing abnormal profit margin as a result of lack of control price ceiling. This is the time to take advantage of the market with a reasonable profit margin. Note: in the process of doing this, constant stock control has to be taken cognizant of. Inventory Re-order level must increase than before to avoid buffer stage of re-order level. Economy Order Quantity(EOQ) method must be effective. The comfortable pricing system always increase customer base astronomically, and the below point (E)would be needed for business expansion at that stage. To be continued..

I had a training session with Nigeria Data Protection Commission- NDPC in collaboration with Cyber 30-30 on Data Protection and Privacy, which is a commendable initiative. In Nigeria, Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution guarantees and protects the privacy of citizens, encompassing their homes, correspondence, and telephone conversations. Every individual should recognize that their data is personal and should not be compelled to divulge it without consent. Understanding the terms under which you're sharing your information is essential, and don't hesitate to inquire if you feel uncomfortable with any questions asked. The National Data Protection Commission (NDPC) is instrumental in educating both individuals and companies on data protection and privacy rights in Nigeria, fostering a culture of awareness and compliance. Principles of data processing that every company should adhere to in Nigeria include: - Lawfulness, Fairness, and Transparency: Ensure that data processing complies with relevant laws and regulations, and that individuals are informed about how their data will be used. - Accuracy: Maintain accurate and up-to-date data to prevent errors or misinformation. - Data Minimization: Collect only the data necessary for the specified purpose and avoid excessive or irrelevant information. - Storage Limitation: Store data for no longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and ensure secure deletion or anonymization when it's no longer needed. - Integrity and Confidentiality: Implement measures to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. - Purpose Limitation: Process data only for the specific purposes for which it was collected and obtain consent if there's a need to use it for other purposes. I hope companies in Nigeria go through the Act to have a better understanding and avoid fines from the Nigerian Government.
