Meet the Team: ir. Andre van Delft Maak kennis met André van Delft (1970), oprichter en algemeen directeur van DEMO Consultants. Met meer dan vijfentwintig jaar ervaring in software development, advisering en R&D voor vastgoedinformatiemanagement van gebouwen en infrastructuur, is hij verantwoordelijk voor de strategie, het management en de business development van ons bedrijf.   🏢 Expertise: André is een ervaren adviseur en ontwikkelaar van vastgoedsoftware, gespecialiseerd in vastgoedinformatiemanagement. Hij heeft diverse softwareoplossingen ontworpen en gebouwd voor ministeries, gemeenten, woningcorporaties, vastgoedbeheerders, beleggers en onderzoeksinstellingen, zowel nationaal als internationaal. 👨💻Meet the team: Robin op de Beek Maak kennis met Robin, softwareontwikkelaar bij DEMO Consultants. Met een achtergrond in architectuur, waarin hij zich specialiseerde in augmented en virtual reality aan de TU Delft, brengt Robin een frisse en innovatieve kijk op softwareontwikkeling met zich mee.   🏢 Expertise: Na het behalen van zijn Master in Architecture heeft Robin vijf jaar gewerkt als XR-ontwerper en -ontwikkelaar voor diverse bedrijven. Zijn ervaring in het ontwikkelen van geavanceerde 3D-visualisatiesoftware voegt een waardevol element van innovatie toe aan DEMO Consultants. Robin is betrokken bij het ontwikkelen en beheren van onze bestaande RE Suite-software en werkt nauw samen met adviseurs en onderzoekers om nieuwe en nuttige oplossingen te ontwikkelen. 📢 Progress update: ✅ The BIM modeling process of the as-is state of the pilot building -the Bronchkorst monastery- in the Netherlands has been finalized by project partner DEMO Consultants. 🔎 Photogrammetry and drone scans captured every detail with precision📐, streamlining the process and reducing site visits. Once the model was finalized in the BIM authoring tool🔧, it was imported to the RE Suite platform, an integrated platform to manage all #BIM processes across the building's life cycle🔄. #HorizonEU #renovation #buildings

👨💻 Meet the team: Sander van Gennip Maak kennis met Sander, developer bij DEMO Consultants. Met een schat aan ervaring in databasebeheer en -analyse is Sander een waardevolle collega bij het softwareteam.   💾 Expertise Sander is een expert op het gebied van databasebeheer en -analyse, met een focus op de ontwikkeling van RE Suite. Hij participeert in ontwikkelteams voor maatwerksoftware en is betrokken bij modellering en informatieverrijking van BIM/IFC-bestanden in RE Suite. Zijn werk strekt zich uit tot internationale onderzoeksprojecten en implementatietrajecten van de RE Suite. Daarnaast verzorgt hij datamigraties, software-installaties voor opdrachtgevers en zorgt hij voor het functioneren van de helpdesk.   🛠️ Bijdrage bij DEMO Als developer bij DEMO Consultants draagt Sander bij aan het succes van onze softwareproducten door zijn brede ervaring en expertise in applicatieontwikkeling. 🚀 New research project: AccesS! 🚀 We are thrilled to share our involvement in a new research project: AccesS: Enhancing Accessibility and Sustainability in Smart Cities and Smart Buildings: The Universal Accessibility Suite Initiative. 🌍🏙️ The Universal Accessibility Suite aims to revolutionize the accessibility and inclusivity of smart buildings and cities. By leveraging advanced technologies like AI, BIM, and GIS, AccesS strives to create barrier-free environments, smooth mobility, and equal access to essential services. AccesS focuses on: 👉 Providing advanced analytics for life-cycle assessments 👉 Optimizing energy, environmental, and user comfort aspects 👉 Incorporating simulation-based testing and compliance with accessibility guidelines 👉 Exploring the relationship between comfort and energy consumption to promote sustainable practices 👉 Utilizing virtual user models and simulation environments The project also aims to enhance the inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable operation of built environments by optimizing building operations based on user needs and addressing e-mobility and micro-mobility for accessible transportation options. A key element is the development of an Accessibility Assessment Scheme to define clear criteria, guidelines, and performance indicators for assessing accessibility. The project includes 6 case studies across 5 European Smart Cities (Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, and Switzerland) focusing on different building types: cultural heritage buildings, people care facilities, and public service buildings. With 22 partners from 9 European countries, this collaborative effort spans 36 months, combining expertise and resources to maximize impact and address various real-life situations. 🚀 New Research Project: CLIMRES! 🚀 We are pleased to announce our participation in a new research project: CLIMRES: Leadership for Climate Resilient Buildings. 🌍🏢 Europe has seen an increase in extreme weather events, especially in the Mediterranean region, which underscores the need for climate resilience. Unseasonably warm winters are disrupting traditional weather patterns and ecosystems. CLIMRES aims to foster Leadership for Climate Resilient Buildings by: 👉 Identifying and categorizing building vulnerabilities 👉 Estimating their impacts within the urban ecosystem 👉 Delivering vulnerability assessment and impact evaluation methodologies 👉 Creating an inventory hub for building materials and design against climate risks 👉 Developing a decision support toolkit for strategic, tactical, and operational levels Within this project, these solutions will be tested in large-scale pilots in Spain, Greece, Italy, and Slovenia, addressing heatwaves, extreme flooding, fires, and earthquakes. A multi-hazard replication pilot will also be conducted in France. At DEMO Consultants, we are excited to play a pivotal role in this project. Our team is leading the Pilots’ Operation, Monitoring & Evaluation task, which involves implementing and supervising the demo campaigns. We are responsible for managing the budget, planning, and overall impact of these initiatives. Additionally, we will evaluate the performance and environmental impact of the proposed solutions to ensure they are effective and sustainable. The lessons learned from these pilots will guide a capacity-building program to train future leaders in climate-resilient buildings. The CLIMRES project aims to provide valuable insights and guidance for building owners, policymakers, and stakeholders involved in building climate resilience and sustainable development. Through co-creation, development, deployment, and demonstration, we seek to implement cost-effective and replicable solutions.
