The World Bank published its Procuring Infrastructure Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) 2018 in early July 2018. The report benchmarks government capabilities and regulatory readiness in 135 economies across four key areas of the PPP project cycle: PPP preparation, PPP procurement, PPP contract management, and unsolicited proposals.

Public-private partnerships don’t always end in a 'win-win'. Even with the most thorough analyses, it’s impossible to predict the many variables that might cause a project to return less than expected. The decisions of elected officials should be monitored to ensure that funds are invested in only those projects that offer the greatest potential for positive returns.
