The Style Pad on Instagram: "6 steps to creating a beautiful DIY oven hood... Step 1: Make sure you save this video so that you can refer back to it ❤️ Step 2: Create a basic framework using lengths of timber. (We used recycled wood we had saved from other projects.) Step 3: Using a thin MDF board (ours was 9mm), cut "panels" to size for the front and sides of the oven hood. Step 4: Add pretty detail using wooden moulding pieces. Be as simple or as elaborate as you like! Step 5: As with all carpentry projects, take some time to fill and caulk any holes or edges. Step 6: Paint! We chose to paint our oven hood with the wall paint to give it a "high end", built-in feel. So, the cost breakdown... These new @leviton_canada Decora Edge receptacles made it super simple to change out all the old, dingy receptacles in our new old home. This particular design was inspired by ones that @bylaurenmcdermott made (thank you!) You all know how I love finding ways to reuse these glass yogurt jars so that’s how I sized them. These can be used to hold cut flowers or to propagate plants and I sealed mine with a waterproof varnish. Materials: glass jar, air dry clay, waterproof sealant Instructions: - Roll clay out - Cut out a circle and use water to smooth out the edges - Create the scalloped edge and smooth - Cut out the holes— I used a metal straw - Let dry completely - Seal with a waterproof glaze/varnish #lowwaste
