Hands-On Outlining: A New Approach to Teaching Writing
Attention secondary ELA teachers: here is the a way for students to approach outlining that takes a kinesthetic, hands-on approach. The outline is now broken up into half sheets of paper. I line up each part of the essay on the ledge of my white board and instruct students to come up to the board and take the parts they need. Students can work one part at a time, pick and choose different selections for body paragraphs, or take all of their cards at once the choice is theirs!

Hello Wonderful Teachers, This packet is a review/independent practice I have used with students as homework and in class to teach writing a conclusion sentence. The packet has sample conclusions for both narrative and informational writing that revolve around the same topic.
