These five exercises can help you get rid of the fear of starting. And then you can go crazy from there if you want!   There are no rules. If you decide to do a continuous line drawing of the tree in the park that you are sitting at and then you want to make the background in a traditional way then so be it! Just have FUN with it and let it be an avenue to help you just begin. And luckily in the process these doodle can help you get better at drawing over time.   It does take time.
