It can further influence lymphatic fluid flow and circulation in the rest of the face. As a result, the tightness on the side of the face can create pooling of fluid in the tissue next to the nose and the mouth, accentuating nasolabial folds and marionette lines. It can also contribute to droopy jowls. These are just the cosmetic effects. Improper drainage of toxins out of the face can lead to puffiness and acne. 

Additionally, sleeping with your mouth open changes the pH of your mouth and the bacteria in it. This in turn can affect digestion.
