Elise McMahon and Francesca Capone have developed an approachable, at-home method of recycling tees.

We already knew that you can make awesome recycled projects out of bottles, but Veronika Richterová has turned this into an art form! Richterová, based in the Czech Republic, uses heat to twist, turn and cut up the bottles and give them natural forms.

The technology advances with an incredible speed and clearly, one old computer will be forgotten in a warehouse or garage. Ah the milk crate, the original building block for DIY furniture. Milk crates are often abused in a design sense by students looking for cheap – read free – storage solutions. But we’ve always known they could be so much more which is why we were so excited when we saw Tasmanian furniture designer Simon Ancher’s clever milk crate stool. With the simple addition of a wooden ‘top’, the crate is transformed into an attractive comfortable seat.

This chair came into being as a criticism of the materialism and of the flood of products in our society. Tejo Remy wanted to start again from the beginning, like Robinson Crusoe on his lonely island, living on whatever can be found.
