Here's your daily dose of distraction from the world :) Lots of hugs and kisses between these two. This dog has been absolutely amazing with children her entire life. Lots of love between these two. #BFF
Is the whole family stuck at home? Get them involved. Pen making is easy and one of the safest ways to get the kiddos involved. This is a pen my nephew turned when he was 7. Feels like yesterday but this was 3 years ago.
Here's your daily dose of distraction from the world :) Tyler Kay still approves of her table and chairs. If you haven't seen the build video search my website or YouTube for table and chairs.
Here's a productive idea for quarantine woodworking. Scrap wood game boards. I'm sure the family would be occupied for a little bit with these. Use nails for the pawns. Took this pic from a US War History book.
Here's your daily dose of distraction from the world :) Is there a better feeling?
Here's your daily dose of distraction from the world :) We got a front seat for my bike so Tyler Kay can ride along with us. She LOVES it. I've never seen a seat like this before. It works great. Thumbs up from us.
Life is crazy right now. Don't stress. Relax the best you can. Here's a fun pic of Tyler Kay pulling her wagon a couple days ago. Hope it makes ya smile :)
The jewelry cabinet will be ash with black hardware. I'm thinking about pinning the mortise and tenon door with black dowels just for embellishment reasons rather than strength. Maybe one medium and one small dowel per joint....hmmmm. I just went out to the shop to test the look in an offcut. The bottom hole looks oval due to chip out. I used regular twist bits for this quick test. Brad point bits and an entry guide block will be used for the real holes.
Ash jewelry cabinet with through mortise and tenon joints for the current project. Knocking out precision joinery with ease on the @pantorouter.usa. What are you working on today?
Jumped back to the @avidcnc today. Tramming and squaring of the gantry done. That's about as much cutting as I want to do without dust collection but I think I've got it dialed in absolutely perfect. DC ducting components should be here this week. Then it's on to making a proper spoil board and a vertical table.
Just a completely shameless plug for two companies that have been absolutely great to work with. This @rockler_woodworking router table and lift pared with long lasting Astra router bit goodness from @bitsbitscompany is pretty darn legit! Look at the reflection on the freshly cut round over... smoooooth. Search Rockler.com for "pro lift" and use code JAYBATES15 for 15% off up to two purchases on bitsbits.com until March. Not a paid ad. They just deserve it by putting up with me.
All of the table legs are figured too. Completely unexpected when I started.
I had no idea this ash was this beautiful in its rough state when I got it. seal coat of shellac applied.
Laguna 18BX. I've had it for a year and a half. I'm scheduling a tool talk video on it. Any questions?
