Gilbert Adrian

Born Adrian Adolph Greenberg, later known as ADRIAN or Gilbert Adrian, he was the creator of some of the most iconic Hollywood fashions ever. He designed gowns for over 200 films. He dressed all the great starlets of the 1920s & 1930s including Crawford, Hepburn and Garbo. His work in The Women (1939) is a standout in my mind, as well as the dresses for The Philadelphia Story and the Wizard of Oz. He left MGM in 1941 to start his own couture house, catering to the rich and fabulous.
