a whole bunch of gazan mutual aid projects and nonprofits. if the decision of which individual fundraiser to give to feels too daunting, or if you just want to help as many people as possible in one go, these are great initiatives to support.

  • care for gaza - focuses on providing food and essential supplies. donate here or here.
  • connecting humanity - securing internet access via donations of virtual sim cards (esims). if you can't afford a whole plan yourself, crips for esims is a communal pool that will use your donation to purchase and maintain esims
  • gaza soup kitchen - provides food, medical care, and classes for children. also has a gofundme
  • glia gaza medical support initiative - provides medical care through field clinics and tents at hospitals. donations can also be sent through their website.
  • ele elna elak - provides clean water, food, clothing, and shelter. they also have a gofundme
  • life for gaza - raising money for the gaza municipality to repair water and waste management infrastructure
  • taawon - partners with local civil organizations to provide food, water, medical care, shelter, and basic supplies
  • the sameer project - running various initiatives providing tents, medical care, and necessities. they have their own encampment project focused on sheltering families with children, sick and disabled members, or members in need of perinatal care
  • islamic relief worldwide's gaza emergency appeal - provides food, water, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and psychological support
  • baitulmaal - provides a variety of necessities, including food, water, shelter, and medical supplies
  • gaza mutual aid fund - distributes food, hygiene products, water, and other essential supplies, including financial support. run by @/el-shab-hussein's amazing friend Mona. updates can be found on her instagram.

  • anera - provides a variety of necessities, including food, water, hygiene supplies, medicine, blankets and mattresses, and psychological care

  • dahnoun mutual aid - provides water, food, tents, baby supplies, financial support, and other necessities. updates can be found through their instagram

certainly this is not an exhaustive list, so please feel free to add on other projects or organizations that i didn't include. and as always, please take the time to donate if you can and share. it truly makes all the difference.

"A Cry for Help from Gaza: I Am Ruba… My Body Is Wasting Away from Hunger"🚨🆘

🆘🚨

I am Ruba from the northern part of Gaza. We are living through a real famine — we are dying of hunger and the situation is beyond what any human can endure. We’ve lost so much weight, and our bodies are getting weaker day by day. Yet no one in this world is standing by us or even hearing our voices.

I am extremely exhausted… my body is wasting away from hunger and weakness. I have only one hope left — and that’s you. That you stand with us and support us.

I beg of God and then of you — please don’t leave us alone in this suffering. We need you, we need your support in any way you can help.

This fundraiser is going EXTREMELY slowly. If you know anything about what's going on in Gaza right now you know that food is very expensive, and them receiving only 1 DONATION PER WEEK is not helping them afford it.

They only have £321 donated so far. PLEASE DONATE AND SHARE. I dont want my friends to starve.

Being a Jew in America right now is so bizarre. The president's right hand man endorses a far-right German party that wants to remove Holocaust memorials and ban the sale of kosher meat, members of the ruling party are doing nazi salutes at rallies, and standing members of congress openly repeat conspiracy theories about the Rothschilds and Jewish space lasers. Then you see a news article about antisemitism and it's like "we need to do something about all these college students protesting mass killings."

I'm Mahmoud. I've been appealing to you for two weeks for food, but I haven't received any response. I've lost hope in posting and asking you. I haven't reached my goal, but I only have $250 left. It may be a small amount, but it means a lot to me!! Please, whoever can donate, please do so urgently. Those who can't, please tell their friends about me or share my campaign. Please, please, please.

To whom it may concern, there is no flour in Gaza, and if there is, the price of the kilo is $50 (note that one kilo of flour consists of only 9 loaves of bread, and this is not enough for two people in one day)

Don't let me down!

Only 10% left until my campaign ends! I now need $900 to buy some flour. That's a lot of money, and I don't expect to get it, so I'll be going without food for the next few days until I get the money for the flour. Maybe if one of you could donate this amount, it would save my life and my family's! I hope this happens.

The cost of living for one day in Gaza for Mahmoud's family, which consists of 5 people, is currently:

All we ask for is the price of a loaf of bread. I will buy the rest with the money I earn from my work because we are... (unclear - the original text seems to have a missing word here). I am very ashamed to ask, but I need only 2 of you to donate $40 to buy flour for me and my family every day.

That is my only dream now: to get a loaf of bread before we die of starvation. We are able to provide bread daily, but we need 2 kilos of flour, and the price of one kilo is $40. This means we need $80 a day to get flour. I work from eight in the morning until five in the evening to earn $30 a day, and I cannot buy flour to feed... (unclear - the original text seems to have a missing word here). I am very ashamed to ask, but I need only 2 of you to donate $40 to buy flour for me and my family every day.

That is my only dream now: to get a loaf of bread before we die of starvation.

medical racism is probably one of the most evil things America does to black Americans. from my experience, I have genuinely been not taken seriously by doctors because of my race and because medical antiblackness is so deeply tied into the whole medical industry.

either we aren't cared for enough because they think we have a "high tolerance to pain" or be experimented on. it's exceptionally bad for black women.

My beloved friend Ghada has asked me to share with you the story of famine and hunger in Gaza right now. Food is scarce, incredibly expensive, and dangerous to retrieve. Even as they survive bombings and building collapses, they are falling victim to severe hunger.

If you're privileged enough to have enjoyed a meal today - why not pay it forward for Ghada and their family? Take even just $5 out of your own food budget and give it to people who haven't had a good meal in months. You can help them eat and have the strength to continue surviving. Please, just give whatever you can! What are you waiting for?

Please help us and donate to us.

obviously everything happening in the us is horrific but (like everything in trump's traveling carnival of government) it's mostly exceptional in now slapdash and clownish the cruelty is. let us please not forget that the EU has been paying foreign governments to torture and murder asylum seekers for years -- and australia's been doing the 'sending refugees to unaccountable offshore camps' thing for more than two decades. & like i say this not to detract from the justified fury and outrage for the situation in the usa but to urge everyone to analyse it not as some bizarre abberation but as something that fits alongside a long list of policies long pursued by the usa and other imperial core nations

On Australia, more refugees in these torture camps have set themselves on fire than been granted asylum in Australia. The government has, in the past, accused refugee advocates of coaching detainees into suicide.

This is just a part ofwhat people in the US and Europe mean by “Australian-style” immigration and refugee policy by the way.

If aid does not enter to Gaza Strip within the next 48 hours — especially baby formula and flour — then prepare yourselves for the largest mass death crime in history.

I swear to you that our children go to sleep hungry and wake up hungry and screaming from extreme hunger

The Zionist occupation is besieging us and starving our children as part of a systematic policy of killing and displacement, and in front of the world, the crossings are closed and humanitarian aid has not entered the Gaza Strip for months and what is entering is not enough to feed 1% of the people, the prices are very high and are not within our purchasing power, as a kilo of flour has reached $40 or more, and the daily expense for the simplest things to feed a small family exceeds $300, please guy's donate to me and my family, we need to buy food, drink and daily living necessities, do not leave us, we need you, feel free to donate, our campaign is verified and vetted by @/ Gazavetters # 213

Wait for your TV screens to show the bodies of our children who died of starvation

They went hungry... carrying in their hearts the hope of a loaf of bread to satisfy their hunger, and they did not know that the path to flour was paved with death. In a chilling scene, the bodies of the martyrs were scattered on the ground, some clutching a bag of flour, and others fell while trying to escape the bullets of treachery. The blood mingled with the flour, turning the whiteness red... as if the earth screamed from the pain of hunger and death together. Their eyes were searching for life, but they found death lurking in the corner of the bread. They came barefoot, and naked stomachs, to return wrapped in the shrouds of the siege. They did not carry weapons... rather, they carried hunger on their shoulders, and that was their fate. The bullets of treachery. This is how the innocent are killed in a land besieged by famine, and where dignity is buried with... A loaf of bread that was not destined to be eaten by the martyrs of the occupation's targeting of those waiting for death aid in the Zikim area, north of the Gaza Strip

“We need complicated female characters!”

We have them, you guys just erase all of their flaws and complexity to make them #girlboss

For the record this post is SPECIFICALLY about the fandom trend of dehumanizing women by putting them on a pedestal and refusing to engage with them as people who also make mistakes and have flaws and cause harm

I am afraid that a great number of you do not seem to actually understand this post.

It is not inherently misogynistic for someone to dislike a female character because of her flaws, nor is it inherently misogynistic for someone to find a female character annoying because of her flaws.

Remarkably, flaws are those character traits which are by design intended to cause annoyance and make the audience dislike a character or at the very least disapprove of certain actions.

Story elements working as intended are not inherently misogyny.

👆This right here. People want to justify or erase the wrong actions of a female character in order to then elevate said character to girlboss status or make her an icon when in reality said character could be just as interesting as a flawed, human character, even if they’re wrong. Recognizing a character for how they’re intended to be portrayed doesn’t mean downplaying women, it’s actually honoring a more realistic portrayal than this cookie-cutter, fake, “I can do anything better than you” narrative that’s gotten pushed into storytelling now.
