Daniel King
I am an early career researcher. My work focusses on post-war literary editing, and developing an appreciation for the importance of editors for both the shape and the reception of authors' work. My first book, Cormac McCarty's Literary Evolution, was published by Tennessee University Press in October 2016. This book examined the role played by editors, literary agents, and others in the work and authorship of contemporary author Cormac McCarthy. To construct my analysis I drew extensively on archival material held at the University of Virginia and Texas State University at San Marcos.
I am continuing this research trajectory by looking at the career and work of Albert Erskine, and the effect that his career had on the practice and status of literary editing in the United States.
