This wood ballpoint twist pen is hand turned by Opie in a larger grip meant to be more comfortable for people with joint, nerve or other conditions that make slim pens difficult or painful to use. As a pen this is refillable with Cross style ballpoint refills and it can also be purchased as a mechanical pencil and we will change out the hardware before sending it to you! Every item that Opie and I make is lovingly, slowly, mindfully handcrafted. Each is it's own unique little piece of functional art. My husband makes his own blanks which are the wood blocks that are put on the lathe to be turned into pens, pencils, seam rippers etc. This is so that we can choose our wood for functionality, aesthetics and sustainability. This also gives him the ability to make them any size that he want
