Measuring different aspects of the weather is a great way for kids to aquire an interest in weather Teaching Weather, Weather Lessons, Preschool Weather, Science Anchor Charts, Second Grade Science, Weather Science, Weather Theme, Weather Unit, 1st Grade Science

Let me start by saying science has been seriously suffering this year :( With my crazy schedule, we literally have only 75 min a week to squeeze in science (or social studies, depending) and it is driving me bonkers. So we have been sluggishly moving through our weather/seasons unit, but we have had some fun doing it that's for sure. We made two season trees, fall and winter...spring and summer will be coming sometime soon. We tore the paper for the tree and used the end of a paintbrush for…

With learning what the different weather patterns are, it is just as important to understand what causes weather. Students can create this chart as a reference. Also I could turn this chart into a game where I add a spinner to the middle of the chart and call on groups of students to give an example of a weather pattern for whichever spot the pointer lands on. I love teaching science with hands-on activities because reading about science isn't the same as doing it. Some of my favorite projects and experiments for a second or third-grade weather unit include creating a cloud in a bottle, demonstrating the water cycle in a bag, and keeping a weather log. The free weather activities in this blog post are fun for kids. Plus, you'll find printables for teaching about weather tools, instruments, symbols, and vocabulary. 2nd, 3rd, 4th #weatheractivities Water Cycle In A Bag, Cloud In A Bottle, Weather Experiments, Weather Activities For Kids, Teaching Weather, Weather Tools, The Water Cycle, Experiments Kids, Weather Science

DIY Weather Station for Kids to Make {from Sun Hats & Wellie Boots} Weather Station For Kids, Weather Activities For Kids, Weather Tools, Wellie Boots, Weather Crafts, Boots Diy, Weather Chart, Weather Projects, Weather Science

This homemade weather station is a great way to get children observing & exploring the weather in their local area. Made from mostly recycled items it's also simple enough for children to put together themselves. Recently Minnie has shown a real interest in the weather & has been eager to discover just how much rain we've had, so to build on this interest & encourage her exploration we decided we'd create a rain gauge, weathervane, & something which would help us observe the strength of the…
