It’s easy to prep and you can keep leftovers in the fridge for up to three days. I like to make it on the weekend, and then breakfast is taken care of for a few days.

This recipe will work for most babies around 7 or 8 months, once they’ve had a little practice self-feeding. There are a couple of common allergens here—eggs and dairy—so keep an eye on baby the first time or two she tries it. Here’s the recipe:

2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the baking dish
2 cups whole milk
2 Tbsp. maple syrup (optional)
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups rolled oats
1 ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder

Ingredients:
* ⅓ cup rolled oats 
* 2 small pitted prunes (no added sugars)
* ½ medium ripe banana
* 1 cup water
* 1-4 tbsp milk (breast milk, formula, or whole milk)
Instructions:
1. Prepare Ingredients: Peel and slice the banana. Chop prunes if needed.
2. Cook Oats & Prunes: In a saucepan, combine oats, prunes, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let cool slightly.
3. Blend: Blend cooked oats, prunes, and banana until smooth or textured.
4. Adjust Consistency: If too thick, add 1-4 tbsp milk and blend or stir.
5. Serve: Cool to a safe temperature before serving. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
