Sure! I’ll make this an FAQ to help others as well.
I’ll use the example of a cupcake pixel
The best way to start is to right click the pixel and “Copy Image Url”
Alternatively, you can save the pixel to your computer and then upload it to tinypic which will provide you with an external url. It is usually quoted as the image’s “Direct link.”
Now you have four main options of where you want to post the pixel on tumblr.
1. Adding the pixel to a Tumblr description.
Click “Customize” and then, wherever you want it in your description bar, insert <img src=“”>. Then, between your the two quotation marks, you are going to press the shortcut buttons CMD+V (Mac) or CTRL+V (Windows). Alternatively, right click and press “Paste”. It will past the URL of the pixel from my Tumblr site that you previously copied.
As you can see, the address of the pixel pasted in between the quotation marks. And my site has updated with the pixel in my description bar :P.
2. Adding the pixel to your Tumblr theme.
Follow the same steps as above. Each Theme is unique and so it depends heavily on where you want to paste the image.
3. Adding the pixel to a Tumblr post.
You can use the code above and add it using HTML.
However, you can also go back to my site, right click the image and save it to your computer.
Then all you have to do to upload it to a post is click the Upload image button.
4. Adding the pixel to a Tumblr page.
Again, it is possible via HTML, but posts have the option of letting you upload images from your computer.
