This is also a way to work on what we call “graded force” in the therapy world. Your child will have to determine how much force to place on the utensil to write in the play doh. If they push too hard, the play doh will rip. If they don’t push hard enough and use enough force, the letters will not show up. A few different ways to do this depending on age/skill level. - show a flash card of a letter and let your child write it in the play dough using a pencil/utensil and then trace it with beads (for the older toddlers who can write letters) - You write a letter in the play doh and have your child “trace” the letter by putting beads along the lines
