Abstract fluid art fun! #abstractart #art #fluidart | By Mark J Ratcliffe Art | I created my own base colour here by mixing a brush and blue with some white. And it's this base colour that really brings this whole design together. But have you ever poured paint from an egg box? Well that's exactly what I'm doing here. So I'm puddling the paints within the egg box. I'm using a colour palette of blues along with a silver and I add some paint in each section where the eggs would sit within the box. I then take the egg box and I'm going to pour that over the canvas over the base that we've already layered down. And all I'm going to do is swirl the paint from the egg box onto the canvas. I tilt the egg box slightly to allow the paint to escape from the box to the canvas itself. And you can see here it's literally leaving lines as I tilt and move the egg box from side to side. It's when we really pick up the design the canvas itself and stretch that paint from side to side and over the edges when it really opens up those lines expand and those colours really work well and infuse together. It's those lines that really open up when you go from side to side. And you can see here the paint moves because there's enough base colour on the base itself. You need ensure you've got enough paint to act as the flow for this creation. By tilting from side to side, I'm moving the paint and covering the surface area of the canvas. And you can see here how those lines are being opened up. Don't be in a rush to tilt. Don't be in a rush to finish this piece. Just really enjoy being in that present moment and watch those lines open up and that colour palette react and infuse together. Blues and silver really work well together. And as this piece dries the silver will help the glow and the shimmer from underneath and help expose those blues even more. I'm happy with this one. This has dried really well and that silver does really pop through. I've loved using the egg box to create some simple lines and opening up lines by tilting the canvas from side to side has really ensured that I've got a good pattern on top. It reminds me of a blue geode. I'd love to know what you think too. And using a blue colour palette is one of my favourite colour palettes to work with. And I'm going to do even more of these with a variety of colour palettes too including some metallics. But by starting with this silver I've been able to really experiment and see how that silver can help those blues pop from the base colour that I created from just using prush and blue and white and how all those colours can really kind of set this piece off. Some simple lines stretched out to create this.
