Victorian Style - Home decorating ideas

Came about during Queen Victoria's reign in Britain. It coincided w/ the Industrial Revolution that boosted the economy & increased the middle class population. But mass production of goods resulted in a decline in quality. While Victorian Style was a demonstration of new found wealth, low quality of goods & random mixing of once hard-to-get items, resulted to what others consider as gaudy interiors. Style's dark color scheme was to combat air pollution caused by the Industrial Revolution.
