It should be so easy (in reality it IS EASY) I just couldn't make it look right! It kept coming out TOO curly or TOO flat. Here are the two things I realized I needed to do differently: 1) I needed to curl only the top layer of my hair. There's tons of volume underneath and it props up the hair and gives it lift UNDER the curl. Genius. If there's a random spot that is peeking out and needs a wave, I add it. I just don't section it off and curl each section like I used to. 2) I pull DOWN when I curl. I wasn't doing this before, so I was getting curls that were too curly instead of a gentle wave.
