I enjoy the emotions El Greco is able to convey just through his subjects' eyes. He really captures the essence of phrase "the eyes are the gateway to the soul." He captures the human element of his figures with his use of lighting and especially his use of highlights. The pinpoints of light he includes in the eyes truly bring them to life.
