The House in the Night

How do the pictures or illustrations add depth to the plot? Would the work lose anything if there were no pictures? This work is one in which the writing is simple. The focus is on the color Gold, while everything else in the world remains black. I hope to show here in this board how the emphasis on single color/the colors of a single object can bring beauty to something that may otherwise be mundane, for that is how I see the illustration in this book served the story.
