Grumman YF-14A Tomcat (design G-303) BuNo 157982 the 3rd prototype in flight in 1971 (test pilot Robert Smyth) Introduced in 1974 to replace the F-4 Phantom, 712 were built at a cost of $38 millon each and retired in 2006. This Tomcat (the oldest survivor) is on display at the Cradle of Aviation on Long Island.
