Color indication: Warm to Cool tones

Best way to have a eye on hair colour when some says 'I want to have a latte tone with a chocolate brown base in between blended' ^ for example. In response I'd usually say would you like your tone warm or cool or would you like your base cool or warm? Meaning a warm tone via gold or red? A cool tone having a beige reflect or ash flat reflect? There is heaps more to a hairdressers eye then using the term, chocolate, latte, champagne, platinum, honey etc. Enjoy my expression on tone✌
