This is my hair freshly washed, no edges laid 😩 no product. It’s super heavy when it’s wet, when it dries it does still have shrinkage to mid back length, I think. I’ve only been consistently retwisting my hair the last two years, prior to that I’d go months without a retwist, ( I was lacking in self care). Now I try to do my hair closer to when I actually have something to do that’s important, other than that I leave it alone. I don’t put oil in my hair at all, or rarely I’d say. Different hair does require different maintenance.
