Here's the stair we designed and built for a client who wanted a super-slim, non-intrusive way to access their loft. I call this an Alternating-tread stair, but there are some other common terms: Space-saving staircase, Thomas Jefferson Stair, Jeffersonian staircase, Ergonomic stair with staggered treads, Zig-zag-style stair, Boat Paddle-shaped treads.
