40K views · 1.3K reactions | The BEST paint color hack!!— Details👇 If you want to paint your walls a version of white, and your cabinets a different neutral color, and you want those paint colors to go together PERFECTLY, this method is for you — I’m going to tell you exactly what we did and how ⤵️ _____________________________________________ **When you want the common areas of your home to have a designer look, you don’t necessarily want to paint everything all one color from the can. That is the path of least resistance. It’s a “detail” opportunity missed. (@manifoldinteriordesign taught me that.) And, really, that only works best for moody color-drenched rooms. OUR EXACT PAINT DETAILS: _________________________ 1.) Our cabinetry paint is 100% Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams, and they are satin sheen. 2.) To ensure the walls and ceiling would go PERFECTLY with the cabinets, we had the painters do Accessible Beige… but cut down to 25% of the normal color strength. (*So, the same Accessible Beige color, but 75% lighter than the normal color from the can.) Cutting the paint color to a lesser saturation strength wasn’t new to us. We did it in our previous home. We did eggshell sheen. 3.). The baseboards, window trim, and pencil trim are Accessible Beige AGAIN, but reduced the color strength to 50% of the normal color in the can. This gives a hint of darker contrast from the walls, and looks amazing. THIS strategy of having the trim slightly darker than the walls was given to us by @manifoldinteriordesign who is the BEST designer!! ***Here’s what this strategy does for your space ⬇️*** It gives contrast.
