A reward of $100 has been offered for the capture of Mustang Pete, a desperate train robber. Ruth tells her brother that she has not yet seen a real cowboy. To play a joke on his sister, the sheriff has Bill Daly disguise himself like Mustang Pete and call on Ruth. Bill encounters Mustang Pete and is overcome. Mustang Pete visits the sheriff's house and orders food from Ruth. Sheriff Tom Lacy of Tulare County is also on the lookout for Mustang Pete, and captures him. Bill has recovered consciousness and goes back to tell the sheriff. He meets the boys and they start out after the real Mustang Pete. Written by
