He warns Miriam Woods to keep mum if she wants to get the money back, which her widowed mother had sunk in the mine. Jack discovers the fraud and demands his money from Bart. But Jack's old Chinese servant has found gold. On the way to tell Jack the good news, he is intercepted by Bart, who plans to get possession of the mine. Jack has been attracted by Miriam but leaves her in anger when he discovers what he thinks is her share in the plot to defraud him. Like all evil doers, Bart overreaches himself. Jack learns that Miriam is innocent. She succeeds in refiling the claim. Jack gets possession of the mine, after a running gun fight. The prospects are that Jack and Miriam will live happy and rich ever after. Written by
