The farmer wishes to marry off the fat daughter to Reuben, a neighbor. Lizzie and Reuben think well of the match until the pretty daughter, May, returns from a visit. Reuben throws over Lizzie and bestows his attentions on May. Lizzie complains to her father who kicks Reuben out. Reuben hires two ruffians to kidnap his lady love. The kidnappers become confused and kidnap the wrong girl. Meantime May's real lover arrives and urges her to go auto riding with him. Reuben is waiting at the justice's office. The kidnappers are pursued by the farmer. Funny situations pile up during the chase. Arriving, Lizzie recognizes Reuben and makes a dive for him. Reuben realizes that something is wrong and attempts to escape. Father and the neighbors arrive, but when the father discovers it is Lizzie that has been carried off and not May, he holds the crowd back to allow the marriage to take place. Reuben throws Lizzie out of the window, the father shoves her back again. There is a wild scramble until Reuben makes his escape and bikes it down the road. Written by
