He is awakened by Rosie, the monkey, who hits him on the nose with a hammer. He is very much in love with the proprietor's pretty daughter, who loves him. The town comic valentine is wild about Lee, but he hates her. She tells her brother, the village smithy, that Lee doesn't like her, and that her heart is broken. Her brother tells her that he will make Lee marry her. He starts out to do so, and just about succeeds, when some boards fall on his head and he drops. Lee and the daughter embrace. Written by
