Things come to a climax at a reception given by them, and she yields to the pleadings of an impassioned admirer and decides to elope with him. Twelve o'clock is the appointed hour. In packing up her clothes she finds a bundle of old love letters, and looking them over revives tender memories of her courtship. Weeping bitterly, the appointed hour is forgotten. Her husband gets wind of the contemplated elopement, and armed with a pistol he cautiously enters her room. The pathetic figure of his sobbing wife brings to him a realization of his neglect, and when she confesses and pleads for forgiveness he takes her tenderly in his arms and tells her that it is he who should ask her pardon, and with a full understanding and renewed love, the two look brightly forward to the future.
