Monte decides to give it up as a bad job, and goes out to bring in the milk bottle after learning that his wife won't be home for several days. He locks himself out, still attired only in his nightgown. Monte finds that trying to get back inside is no easy matter, for a policeman sees him and thinks he looks strange. An escaped lunatic, who is wearing much the same costume as Monte, joins in the chase. Before long Monte finds he is being mistaken for the lunatic. The wild scramble leads into a strange apartment house, where he gets into the wrong room. Then when Monte does get out into the hallway. he learns that the lunatic has gone into the room. The other occupants of the apartment house give chase and Monte finally escapes after climbing up on top of a hall light. Somebody pulls off his nightgown as he is escaping, and to adjust matters, Monte grabs a boy passing the door of a garage where he has taken refuge. Monte quickly changes clothes, and makes a dash for home clad in the youth's garments. Written by
