The lamas take the form of the various deities of the Buddhist pantheon. Their dances, accompanied by ensembles composed of trumpets, flutes, drums and other typical instruments, last several days. This is the first time that these ceremonies have been filmed. The musical accompaniment recorded on the spot, therefore original, translates the particular atmosphere which envelops the religious rites of Central Asia. Written by Trento Film Festival See less
