Download and set up the Suica app or load it into your phone’s wallet *before* you arrive in Japan. You’ll use this for buying things like train tickets and using vending & arcade machines. ⠀ 2. You need to book activities & entrances in advance, ideally a month or more beforehand. We missed out on a bunch of things because they were all booked out. ⠀ 3. English is not widely spoken, so download the offline version of Google Translate before you go. ⠀ 4. You’ll be walking A LOT, so pack comfortable shoes & try to bring a small suitcase or bag to make getting around easier.
